Nenu Naa Rakshasi- Ee title gola enti?

Have you ever felt happy walking out of a theatre thinking that this was the least that you could have blown up on a movie and even that amount forcing you into a sense of regret?

Have you ever felt happy that the movie has finally ended, putting an end to the roughshod that the director rode on you and has the gall to say ‘Thanks’ for watching the movie?

Have you ever felt both the contrasting emotions on a same movie? If your reply to all these questions is in affirmative, then you have watched Puri Jagannath’s latest offering ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’. If it is in the negative then you haven’t

The only reason that prevents you from rushing towards the exit doors is the reputation of the director and the fervent hope of something unexpected happening. That this sort of a movie has come from a person, who in the past has wielded megaphone for movies like Idiot, Pokiri, Neninthe, ANOTA is baffling

When the titles are rolled, you can notice on the extreme right in the bottom corner the name of the person who conceptualised the idea. Yeah you guessed it correct. He is the man who has sent the audience into a mass hatred drive against him from January onwards

When he forces his protégés into making mindless movies like this, you tend to totally backaway from the man’s offerings. Yes it is indeed Ram Gopal Varma

Coming back to the movie itself, the only positives in the movie are the performances by the kid and Subba Raju. When the entire humour thread in the movie is woven around entendre and so-called jokes that hit below the belt, you can realise the levels the movie has stooped down to

The less said about the lead cast the better. It is entirely the director’s fault as they are made to repeat their acts till the interval. In fact Rana should consider himself lucky that this was just his second movie. If it was a movie made when he would be an established actor, then he would have laid the foundation for his destruction. Illeana needs some serious career options as after the blockbuster KICK she has delivered four duds in the form of Saleem, Rechipo, Shakthi and now NNR

During the promotion of the movie, Rana asserted that it was a different movie and it was not made keeping the commercial aspects in mind, which was what the trailers suggested. He also stated that after Puri narrated him the story, he went back and wrote down the scenes. Rana also stated once this was done, he was impressed with the story on hand. Now the question to him is if the same script was made into a movie?

Well in his defence, though the critics allege him to be wooden faced, there is not much scope for him to emote in this movie too. You don’t expect snipers to be animated, do you? Well when Mahesh Babu acted in a similar kind of role in Athadu, his acting was called as subtle. So what is the problem in setting the same standards for Rana?

Puri needs to go back to either Ravi Teja or Prabhas to get his range back. What might gladden him is the fact that he has a movie on hand with Mahesh Babu. One more request to the directors is to sincerely keep away from RGV for foreseeable future.

As an audience, you can easily make out that the final scene was not a part of the original script and only added as a ‘feel good’ factor. What was the saying ‘Ab Pachtane se kya laab jab chidiya chug gayi khet ( roughly translated as ‘ no use in crying over split milk’)

Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol

BREAKING NEWS: Allu Arjun and Ravi Teja from Telugu movies make a fleeting appearance in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. Doesn't matter that they appear in a TV footage in the movie From the time it was announced that Anil Kapoor would be a part of the Mission Impossible franchise, it was marked as an awaited movie in India. It was widely anticipated that he would play a major role in the movie. Though he serves as a major connecting link in the movie or rather the main reason, why the movie moves to India, he is projected as a lusting billionaire One of the very good things about the movie is its humour content. There are a lot of subtle one-liners by the guy who operates the computer and is the technical guru in the movie. The movie is about an evil mind getting his hand on nuclear warhead and the mission is to stop a full blown war between USA and Russia There are a lot of things that are interlinked in the movie. For example, at the beginning of the mission when it’s sa...

Cameraman Ganga tho Rambabu review

When asked his opinion on Monty Panesar, the legendary leg spinner, Shane Warne said “Monty hasn’t played 33 Tests, he has played the same Test 33 times.” Hilarious, it surely was, but it also tells us that the lack of variety can never go unnoticed. Puri Jagannadh is also treading the same path as Monty Panesar now. His movies have become monotonous. No two ways about it. Protagonist leading a normal life, rises in staure, opposes authority and finally, gets his way. This has been the standard flow in the majority of his movies. A more recent addition is the way they talk to/about women. In spite of all these blemishes, there are moments of brilliance in the movie, depending on your perspective that is. The scene where Pawan Kalyan confronts Prakash Raj on his knowledge about Telugu Thalli and the scene where he explains to Tamannah that every man is a poet in his own right are pointers to a brilliant dialogue writer hidden in the reckless director that we have come to k...

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

Ten years ago a young man gave the Hindi film industry a breath of fresh air with his ‘cult’ film Dil Chahta Hai . It was, in all senses a coming of the age movie. That young man now acts in a movie directed by his sister. The movie bears uncanny resemblance to the movie made by the man himself Starring Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol and Farhan Akhtar (in the same order as they appear in screen credits), the movie has a lot going for it. The star cast is a major plus and the biggest positive for the movie is the location that it has been shot in- Spain What starts off as a fun trip changes into one where the protagonists confront their fears and in the process we peel the layers of their personalities. Though at some places the movie seems dragged, it does the job of taking you along with the proceedings. The only complaint, if there has to be one, is the fact that the comic track that involves the boys scaring others seems a little forced. All the three actors appear in most of the scen...
