A man, it’s said evaluates his own worth based on the acceptance levels of his partner. That’s what Sukumar tries to convey through 100% Love
Right from the day the pink hued posters were splashed all across, the expectations on the movie were rising. Sukumar is known for his treatment of the subjects
He infuses shades of grey into the protagonist’s role in each of his movies. Arya, Jagadam, Arya-2 bear testimony to this fact and 100% Love further enhances it. What is different from his earlier movies is the importance given to the female protagonists role
The movie catches your attention from the very first frame. Rolling titles have become passé. The titles in this movie are innovative and addictive at the same time. It’s purely co-incidental that this movie like ‘Ala Modalaindhi’ depends on the lead cast for comedy. Another similarity with the movie is the person who played ‘Kidnap character’
Naga Chaitanya appeared a little stiff in his debut movie and since his second movie was shot predominantly in close angles, it was this movie that had the onus on it to show his progress as an overall actor. Except for dancing, he shines through in all departments. His acting has got that endearing quality that’s missing from most of the big names these days
Tammana Bhatia, at the risk of sounding clichéd has given a breakthrough performance. This performance will be set as a template for heroines in college girl roles
KR Vijaya, Naresh, Dharmavarapu Subramaniam breeze through their roles and the kids light up the screen providing the biggest comic relief in the movie
The lead actors appeared at ease with themselves in the movie. Notice the smirk that Naga Chaitanya has in the confrontation scenes and the peace that Tammana’s face exudes in those same scenes. Pretty complimentary to each other. Who says you need all the nava-rasas to act. Proficiency in a few expressions can take you places too
The careers of both Naga Chaitanya and Tammana are headed northwards because they have shown themselves of being capable to act
It is a difficult act to portray Ego on Indian screens as the audience needs to empathise with the protagonist. This is where Sukumar brings his treatment skills to the fore. He balances the difficult art perfectly as at no point in the narrative do you actually bring upon yourself to hate the egoistic protagonist
Another appreciation for Sukumar is the knack of knowing his actors well. He knew that Naga Chaitanya might appear a tad stiff in dances. Reason enough for him to blend the songs into the narrative rather than force them upon him
Taking the cue from a dialogue in the movie
Sukumar is great
Naga Chaitanya is great
Tammana is great
100% Love is great
And nobody would grudge them this honour
