Changes to Champions League Twenty20

After dragging on for 16 days, Champions League Twenty20 came to an end and Chennai Super Kings were crowned the champions at the end of it all and rightly so. They were the only team to be undefeated throughout the tournament bar the super over finish The games were one sided in most of the cases, mostly the matches that involved Central Districts , Guyana , and Wayamba . Although it's impossible to restructure the tournament in order to get the best teams in place to play each other, the management can certainly ensure that it is managed in a more proper manner A few suggestions from my side would be as follows * Freelancing should be prohibited by the boards and also the state associations. It is highly surprising as to how the management allows IPL teams to play the Champions League when the state associations play a T20 tournament in India. All other countries qualifiers come through a tournament organised by the board. If not taken care of, it would spiral into a huge cris

Time for Marquee clash

Circa 2003: In what was a direct clash of sorts on the festive occasion of Sankranti, Naga and Okkadu released, separated by a span of one day. We all know what followed, Okkadu opened to a divide talk and gained the word of the mouth thus setting on track Mahesh's career. Naga flopped, but what followed from Jr. NTR is legendary as he came up with Simhadri Cut to 2005 when Chiranjeevi's career was on the wane, NTR struggling to find the next hit for himself. Mahesh came up with a scorcher in the form of Athadu and set the record straight as the superstar to be 2006 was the year of records as Mahesh came up with Pokiri, which did a lot of things to him and NTR was still on the downward spiral. Rakhee, to an extent revived his flagging career and pressure was squarely on Mahesh to deliver. Deliver he did, a blob in the form of Sainikudu 2007 was another year of contrasting fortunes for both these stars. Mahesh came with another blob in the form of Athidhi and NTR ca

Movie making and the hazards

When a week prior to it's release, a debate started raging on the release date of 'Komaram Pulli', it was becoming apparent to all that it would be going down the lane When the producers are not sure in getting the prints to the theaters and the lead protagonist detaches himself from the mass frenzy being whipped up prior to the release, it does send negative signals not only to the fans but the audience in general Having not seen the movie, I cannot talk about what appealed to me and what din't! If you follow Telugu movies and an aficionado of Internet, you would realise that there are countless loopholes to the movie. Not that we agree to every word that's said in the reviews but when you need to pay 50 rupees on a single screen and god knows what exorbitant price on the multiplex screens, you would want to check out the reviews before you spend that kind of money It does not help that the movie is in making for two and a half years as there would be pletho

Bowler's : Are they the most abused lot?

"Form is temporary, class is permanent" "Catches win matches" These are the things that we normally tend to hear about the batsmen and fielders respectively when they find themselves out of form and selector's radar. Nothing about the bowlers though. We have been witness to so may run fest's these days. The one's that get close are billed as instant classics. A case in point being the match played at Rajkot last year between India and Sri Lanka. That epic match at Johannesburg had its moments for the batsmen but nobody remembers that Bracken had a five wicket haul in the match. Considering the match and the situation it was a Titanic performance. One point that can be easily derived from all of this is that not only does a bowler, need to be on the winning team but he needs to deliver a knock-out punch to be remembered Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Aamer, and Suraj Randiv are the bowlers who have been in news in the last one month for various reasons. While
