Varudu (or) Wah-Rududu

hype1 colloq, noun 1 intensive, exaggerated or artificially induced excitement about, or enthusiasm for, something or someone. 2 exaggerated and usually misleading publicity or advertising; a sales gimmick. 3 a publicity stunt, or the person or thing promoted by such a stunt. 4 a deception. verb (hyped, hyping) to promote or advertise something intensively

The fourth definiton seems to work for this movie, where nothing despite the presence of the actors of the calibre of Suhasini and Ashish Vidhyarthi. This is the second film in the recent past where the antagonist walks away with the piece of cake( the other one being Ek Niranjan

There are two kinds of good directors. One which make the actors suit the part. Mani Rathnam, Gautam Menon, K.Viswanath to put in a few belong to that part and the other being those who select apt actors for the part. The examples of this kind being Bharatiraja, Balachander.

I once remember R.Madhavan saying this about Mr.Manirathnam
"Mani sir is such a person that even if he makes you romance an electric pole, it appears genuine" Now this is the awe in which an actor will hold the director in, if he gets him to perform

Well coming back to the movie, Allu Arjun for one looked a complete mismatch for the role as he is known for roles that are energetic in nature. In the movie itself, he comes across as an antithesis to the person people think him to be

As for me, it was such a good concept of showing how a marriage goes on. Gunasekhar could have yet gone on to make a good movie if he did not bring in the antagonist angle. Then, Antagonists role was the saving grace for the movie as Arya excelled in the role like no one else

There was a huge brouhaha about the identity of the heroine and it was said that the identity was not being as it was a part of the movie. Well Bhanu Mehra makes her entrance just before interval and has further 4-5 scenes to enact
Scenes to watch

The introduction scene of the villain where he says "Marchipo"

The entire scene where the antagonist says "Khushmanda"

The scene on the bridge where Arya talks about hunting

Well the 50 family or the 100 family hype too didn't work out and money is wasted both on the ticket and the movie

Note: Allu Arjun needs to improve his dialogue delivery a lot to register an impact in these kind of movies

Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol

BREAKING NEWS: Allu Arjun and Ravi Teja from Telugu movies make a fleeting appearance in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. Doesn't matter that they appear in a TV footage in the movie From the time it was announced that Anil Kapoor would be a part of the Mission Impossible franchise, it was marked as an awaited movie in India. It was widely anticipated that he would play a major role in the movie. Though he serves as a major connecting link in the movie or rather the main reason, why the movie moves to India, he is projected as a lusting billionaire One of the very good things about the movie is its humour content. There are a lot of subtle one-liners by the guy who operates the computer and is the technical guru in the movie. The movie is about an evil mind getting his hand on nuclear warhead and the mission is to stop a full blown war between USA and Russia There are a lot of things that are interlinked in the movie. For example, at the beginning of the mission when it’s sa

Enthiran

There was a time , when I was a Chiranjeevi fan, to an extent that I even defended his flop movies such as Rickshavodu, Big Boss and others of the same ilk. For me he was was the ultimate star- the superstar. And hearing tales of Amitabh Bachchan from my father did nothing to alter my views on Chiranjeevi's superstardom Towards the end of my graduation, that is circa 2005 in April, two movies released- Mumbai Express and Chandramukhi. I went to Mumbai Express for the first day first show and was not impressed. Rajnikanth, coming off a colossal flop called  Baba  and Chandramukhi was touted to be his comeback vehicle. Since we had nothing to do, we dragged ourselves to Chandramukhi and I was impressed with the fact that as a superstar, he allowed the female protagonist to run away with the credit Well when Sivaji released, I got to see Rajni mania first hand and what a sight it was! I was in Bangalore and there was a serpentine queue to procure the tickets. The sheer magnitude

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

Ten years ago a young man gave the Hindi film industry a breath of fresh air with his ‘cult’ film Dil Chahta Hai . It was, in all senses a coming of the age movie. That young man now acts in a movie directed by his sister. The movie bears uncanny resemblance to the movie made by the man himself Starring Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol and Farhan Akhtar (in the same order as they appear in screen credits), the movie has a lot going for it. The star cast is a major plus and the biggest positive for the movie is the location that it has been shot in- Spain What starts off as a fun trip changes into one where the protagonists confront their fears and in the process we peel the layers of their personalities. Though at some places the movie seems dragged, it does the job of taking you along with the proceedings. The only complaint, if there has to be one, is the fact that the comic track that involves the boys scaring others seems a little forced. All the three actors appear in most of the scen
