Fast bowlers hunt in pairs!!

Sachin Tendulkar is a gifted wicket in either forms of the game and when you have him in your first game, it means that there is something in the bowling to look forward to. In Tests, the bowlers who have taken him as their maiden scalp have not gone to kick on with bigger things in life. It's one thing to get his wicket and quite another to get his wicket by foxing him

Clint McKay will forever bask in the glory of not only having him in his very first game but by having him foxed by a slower delivery in that epic match at Hyderabad. He got him by bowling a back of the hand slower one. Till today his debut match remained his best day in his short career. He made a name for himself on the circuit for his back of the hand slower ball

From today on people will remember him for sucking every bit of help that a pitch can provide. Bestowed with the opportunity of sharing new ball in a dead rubber he dismantled the top order in a jiffy!

Dilshan was forced into flicking a fuller ball on the middle stump to the square-leg fielder. Sangakkara's dismissal was actually set-up as he beat the outside edge and then bowled one wider outside the off stump. Sangakkara fell for the bait and got an outside edge back to the keeper. He did not have to work much for Jayawardene's wicket as he bowled one just short of a fuller length. Jayawardene obliged him by going for the drive and got an outside edge that was snaffled up at second slip. He got the premier batsmen of Sri Lanka back in the pavilion for ducks

It is said that fast bowlers hunt in pairs which means one aids the other in getting the wickets. Starc did just that for Watson as beat the outside edge of Tharanga twice in an over with deliveries slanted across him. Watson then did the needful by pitching one on line and fuller in length

Starc could have had his first wicket if not for Ferguson not diving at square-leg and was replaced by Doherty only to be handed the ball to bowl from the end Watson bowled. He immediately rewarded himself and his captain by getting Matthews' wicket. He got him to inside edge a delivery as he came down the track in a premeditated attempt to go over long-off. "I felt pretty good. Getting the first one is pretty tough and once you have it in the bag the pressure eases" Starc said about the first wicket in international cricket. Shades of Sachin Tendulkar in talking about getting a double century in that

The way he got Jeevan Mendis was even more beautiful as he got him to fend at a delivery  that rose at an alarming height and it went to Haddin chest height. At this stage began the partnership between McKay and Starc.McKay helped Starc in getting Silva's wicket as he had him driving away from the body in his over. Silva did the same to Starc and got a thick inside edge that cannoned onto the stumps

With Powerplay being taken, McKay with his fuller length forced Perrera to drive and he lofted it to point. McKay got a well deserved five-fer when he got Randiv to drive away from the body and with the ball coming in ever so slightly, Randiv missed the line and was castled

Starc pronounced the final rites for the innings as he got Malinga to connect a pull shot straight into the hands of deep midwicket. In a matter of six overs between themselves McKay and Starc took four wickets and nine wickets in the innings. Starc who was considered to be a clone of Johnson before this match earned an identity for himself

For a team that was struggling to finish the innings off, to do it in a matter of six overs was an achievement. It's not as if they can put the demons from Cardiff, Mohali and Melbourne to rest but it at least gives them a hope

Starc was pretty elated when he said that there was a lot of talk in the past couple of weeks and that being put into action was good thing. He also said it felt good to put in the hard work at the academy and added he felt pretty happy about wearing the cap at home

As for McKay people will start watching out for those inswingers in addition to the back of the hand slower deliveries. Whoever said fast bowlers hunt in pairs, said it right

Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol

BREAKING NEWS: Allu Arjun and Ravi Teja from Telugu movies make a fleeting appearance in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. Doesn't matter that they appear in a TV footage in the movie From the time it was announced that Anil Kapoor would be a part of the Mission Impossible franchise, it was marked as an awaited movie in India. It was widely anticipated that he would play a major role in the movie. Though he serves as a major connecting link in the movie or rather the main reason, why the movie moves to India, he is projected as a lusting billionaire One of the very good things about the movie is its humour content. There are a lot of subtle one-liners by the guy who operates the computer and is the technical guru in the movie. The movie is about an evil mind getting his hand on nuclear warhead and the mission is to stop a full blown war between USA and Russia There are a lot of things that are interlinked in the movie. For example, at the beginning of the mission when it’s sa...

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

Ten years ago a young man gave the Hindi film industry a breath of fresh air with his ‘cult’ film Dil Chahta Hai . It was, in all senses a coming of the age movie. That young man now acts in a movie directed by his sister. The movie bears uncanny resemblance to the movie made by the man himself Starring Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol and Farhan Akhtar (in the same order as they appear in screen credits), the movie has a lot going for it. The star cast is a major plus and the biggest positive for the movie is the location that it has been shot in- Spain What starts off as a fun trip changes into one where the protagonists confront their fears and in the process we peel the layers of their personalities. Though at some places the movie seems dragged, it does the job of taking you along with the proceedings. The only complaint, if there has to be one, is the fact that the comic track that involves the boys scaring others seems a little forced. All the three actors appear in most of the scen...

Cameraman Ganga tho Rambabu review

When asked his opinion on Monty Panesar, the legendary leg spinner, Shane Warne said “Monty hasn’t played 33 Tests, he has played the same Test 33 times.” Hilarious, it surely was, but it also tells us that the lack of variety can never go unnoticed. Puri Jagannadh is also treading the same path as Monty Panesar now. His movies have become monotonous. No two ways about it. Protagonist leading a normal life, rises in staure, opposes authority and finally, gets his way. This has been the standard flow in the majority of his movies. A more recent addition is the way they talk to/about women. In spite of all these blemishes, there are moments of brilliance in the movie, depending on your perspective that is. The scene where Pawan Kalyan confronts Prakash Raj on his knowledge about Telugu Thalli and the scene where he explains to Tamannah that every man is a poet in his own right are pointers to a brilliant dialogue writer hidden in the reckless director that we have come to k...
